Grill Chicken with BBQ spice

I wanted to make a quick chicken for my lunch so made grill chicken with just 3 ingredients and its super easy.
I have taken 3tsp BBQ marinade spice and mixed it with 1/2 cup of yogurt.

I had taken 3 drumstick of chicken. Marinade the chicken and kept it for the whole night, if you want to make it quick you can Marinade it for 1 hour and then grill it.

Once the chicken is marinated for 12 hrs, grill the chicken at 120 degree Celsius for 30 min. If you don’t have an oven then you can grill it in a pan by adding some oil & cook at medium flame.

Chicken is ready to eat.

P.S. For people who cook in pan check the meat by poking tooth pick in chicken just to confirm if its cooked.

SOS – Spaced Out Spirits

My first ever adventurous order (literally: P). Thrilled to share my adventurous kitchen experience with SOS – Spaced Out Spirits.  Mystic Kitchen Colours  made a few items on their menu for cloud surfing event which was organized on Aug 16th & 17th. I would like to thank Ramesh and SOS team to give me this opportunity and believing in Mystic Kitchen Colors.

Ramesh is my ex colleague and he has started his own venture SOS. He asked me how I can help him for his cloud surfing camping, I had never tried my hands professionally on cupcakes or any other cuisine, but I gave him samples of cupcakes, Mutton kebabs and sample of butters. After a few hours he called me and told me that he wants everything whatever that was there in a sample box. It was unbelievable for me and I started planning the execution of my order. So here is the list of all the things that I made and it’s recipe, I am not sharing the recipe of Shami kebab as it’s my mom’s special recipe with secret ingredient :)




Mutton Kebabs

  1. 200 cupcakes – Vanilla & Chocolate (Recipe here)
  2. 3kg Marinated yogurt based chicken (Below)
  3. Flavoured butter – Cheesy, Coffee & Honey, Choco butter and Olive butter (For Order)
  4. Shami Kebab

Yogurt based Marinated chicken




1.5 kg Chicken

2 Tbsp Oregano

4-5 Cloves Garlic (or Garlic paste)

1 Lemon Zest

1/2 Lemon Juice

Salt & Pepper

2 Tbsp Olive Oil

2 Long Red Chillies (optional)

Handful of Parsley

1 Cup Plain Yogurt


Mix all the ingredients in yogurt except chicken. Mix it well, and then add chicken. Put all the ingredients in a zip foil so the mixture is well marinated in the chicken. Refrigerate the chicken for whole night or if you are in a rush, half an hour will also do.

Take a pan, add chicken and cook it on high flame till the water evaporates which will take at least 3-4 min, and then cover the pan with the lid and let it cook on a low flame for 5 more min. Turn off the gas, but do not remove the lid for the next 10 mins

P.S you can barbeque the chicken or even bake it. To check if its cook you can have the fork test, if fork slides in smoothly, its cooked and if it doesn’t cook it for few more minutes.

Squid with MKC’s Sour & Spicy butter

Mystic Kitchen Colors Sour & Spicy butter can be used in many ways, you can add it with pasta and make Aglio E Olio spaghetti or you can put it in a paratha or you can make the same recipe with prawns or chicken.

Today I am sharing this delicious and easy recipe of squid with Sour & Spicy butter, yes indeed its a very easy recipe in just 3 steps.



300 gm – Squid
3 Tbsp – MKC’s Sour n Spicy Butter
1 Tbsp Olive Oil
Salt to taste
Step 1:
In a pan add Oil and MKC’s Sour n Spicy Butter
Step 2:
As the butter and oil is heated add the squid and salt.
Step 3:
Cook for 20 – 25 minutes and its ready.
P.S. You can add more butter if you like it more buttery, you can add some garlic, chillies as per your palate.


Kale and Mushroom Pie

I have heard a lot about Kale from few years from kale pesto to kale chips, so I thought to make a recipe with kale. Here are some of the benefits from Kale;

1. Kale is low in calorie, high in fiber and has zero fat.

2. Kale is high in iron.

3. Kale is high in Vitamin K.

4. Kale is filled with powerful antioxidants.

5. Kale is a great anti-inflammatory food.

6. Kale is great for cardiovascular support.

7. Kale is high in Vitamin A.

8. Kale is high in Vitamin C.

9. Kale is high in calcium.

10. Kale is a great detox food.


Kale and Mushroom pie


For Tart:

Flour – 225gm

Butter – 100gm

Ice cold water – to Knead


Take a Food processor add flour and cold butter mix it till you can see the crumble or sand like texture. Then add the water to make a dough. If you don’t have the processor dip your hand in the ice water and knead it to make a dough.

As the dough is ready cling it in a plastic wrap and refrigerate for 15-20 min. Below is the source for the tart you can refer to


For Filling

1/2 cup Boiled Kale

1.5 cup Mushroom

2 Medium diced onion

Salt to taste

1/2 tsp pepper

1 tsp oregano

1 tsp red chilli powder

1/4 cup Cheese (optional)

2 tbsp oil


Heat a medium size pan add oil, As the oil is heated add onion. Cook it till its translucent, add all the spices pepper, oregano, chilli powder and cook for 1 minute then add mushroom cook it for 2-3 minutes till its soft and then add kale. Cook it for 2 minutes and remove it.

Take the dough and roll it in between the butter paper, because of the butter paper it will be rolled easily. Take a tart pan add the the rolled dough and then add the filling, add the grated cheese on top and bake it for 200 degree Celsius for 20 minutes.

As the tart is ready you can see, it will leave all the sides.

Serafina Pop Up Store

Its been a while I have not updated my blog, was too busy with my work and MKC’s order. This blog is not about any new recipe, its about my experience where I participated in an event.

Few days back I got a mail from small fry Co that they are organizing an event at Serafina (Palladium- High Street Phoenix mill) and their theme is Italian, the moment I read that mail I knew I wanted to participate & I so so wanted to be part of the same. Quickly I replied them & they reverted me back saying that they want to display my olive and cheese butter, also they wanted to know if I can come up with coffee flavor. I tried  coffee n honey flavor and took it to my office next day for tasting. My friends really liked it also shared some samples with Basket Girl –  Chetna from basket case, even she loved it.

Once I was sure about the Coffee n Honey flavor grabbing this opportunity I introduced my 2nd new flavor Pepper and Basil which was again liked and loved by all for which I would really thank my colleague and friend who tasted my butter and always give me their honest feedback. I didn’t thought that  people would love these flavor’s so much. I launched these 2 flavors at Serafina on 22nd march 2014.

A day prior I was ready with everything for the event, made the final check list. As I had to deliver my butter in the morning before  10.00am because the mall had their own rules.

So here I was ready in the morning with all the stuff packed and ready with my bags. Seeing my too many bags and icebox which contains my butter jars my mom suggest to carry one big bag which can accommodate all my stuff so that I had to carry 2 things –  one bag and the other icebox that’s it. Hence I started stuffing my things in one bag and I left for the day happily but once I reached the venue I realized I forgot my menu stand which contains all the details of my products. I panicked and started calling people who could help me out with a printer who could get me that same standee printed nearby but nothing helped. Just when all hopes were down one of my old company printer called back like a savior and saved the day by printing the standee instantly. So alls well that ends well the event went smooth got good response for the butter was so glad and surpised for the love people showered.




Homemade Granola and Strawberry parfait

I have learned about parfait from couple of cooking classes I have been and then I just knew it should have a perfect layers, A Parfait means perfect. Since its a season of strawberry I have made strawberry parfait earlier with vanilla cake & this time I am gonna tell you about the granola parfait. Its healthy and sugar free.


Homemade Granola & Strawberry Parfait



For Granola:-

2 Cups Oats
3/4 Cup Dry Fruits & Seeds (Almond, Cashew, Walnut, Pistachio, Raisins and any fruit seed if available)
2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
4 tbsp Honey


Pre heat the oven at 200 degree Celsius. Mix all the ingredients except Raisin. By mixing this ingredient your hands will become dirty but don’t worry it will be the best guilt free product. Now take a flat baking tray spread the oats mixture evenly, it should be a thin layer. Bake it in 150 – 180 degree celsius (temperature varies oven to oven) for 20min or till the mixture turns brown. After every 5-10 min remove the oats and mix it and then again bake it. If you dont mix it after 5-10 min it might get burnt.

After 20 min remove the oats add the raisins and let it cool. The mixture will be soft initially but after removing from the oven it will be crisp and you can have this granola for your breakfast with milk or yoghurt or with ice cream :)

For Layering the Parfait:

Take a tall glass or wine glass, Layer the granola then Greek yoghurt or Amul Dahi will also do and then strawberry pieces and then add 2tsp of honey if the strawberries are not sweet you can add more honey. Repeat the layers and your parfait is ready.

Lemon & Basil Vinaigrette

Here I have come with a simple recipe, where you can have with any salad. I wanted our desi taste of lemon, salt & pepper. Here is the recipe for our desi taste of Vinaigrette.




1/4th cup Olive Oil
1/4 cup Fresh Lemon Juice
1 tbsp chopped fresh basil
1 tbsp white balsamic vinegar
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper


Whisk all the ingredient together in a small bowl until blended. You can see the change of the color when it is blended.
